Jennifer Hardel is a french designer based in Paris.
Her personal approach of design emerged during her studies at Rennes School of Fine Arts
(Ecole des Beaux Arts de Rennes, EESAB) and then at Saint-Etienne School of Design
(Ecole de Design de Saint-Etienne, ESADSE), from which she graduated.
In 2017, she won the Rondino Rhônes-Alpes contest prize with a set of urban games
for children, which received the Observeur du design 2018 label. That same year, she won
the jury Prize at the Cinna contest, revealing young talents for the 10th edition with the mirror-shelf Millefeuille now available. She also participated in several exhibitions during the Biennial of design of Saint-Etienne in 2017 with her projects Mâtuvu and Podium,
and at the IMM Cologne 2018 with her project Anemone lamps.
Her ideas follow observations made in her daily life: sensations, details, forms, behaviors, whether common or peculiar, obvious or subtle. She interprets and transforms them
in order to reveal them and to suggest a new language, a discrepancy.
By a collage principle, she superimposes layers of textures, colors, materials forms,
which allows her to create a specific vocabulary varying from 2D to 3D. This process
enables her to compose the substance and forms of her objects. From this intellectual reflection emerge analogies, hybrid objects, revelations, contemplations, curiosities.
Each of her projects is a narration, an exploration.
